ASBC PROJECT UPDATE
Our organisation is dedicated to empowering our beneficiaries to overcome poverty and achieve a healthy, fulfilling lifestyle. In collaboration with Ghana Health Service and NORSAAC, PRONET NORTH under the USAID-ASBC activity hosted a community health fair at DBI . This initiative aimed to generate demand for health service products, increased access and promote measurable behaviour change to improve health status of individuals and communities. Health talks around sexual and reproductive health, Nutrition, malaria, family planning and overall wellbeing. The mother-to -mother group performed a health- focused role play to emphasize the importance of SMC for preventing malaria in children and the need to seek professional medical attention when needed. Additionally, a health worker led an interactive forum, encouraging open dialogue and discussions. PROJECT UPDATE
The Transport Sector Improvement Project (TSIP), funded by the European Union (EU) through the Ministry of Roads and Highways, aims to improve 670 km of feeder roads to enhance access to markets, local communities, health facilities, and promote sustainable agriculture in the Upper West Region. ProNet North serving as the Grievance Redress NGO for this project, was present at the commissioning of the roads in the Daffiama Busie Issa District (DBI). The roads were officially commissioned by the EU delegation to Ghana Irchad Ramiandrasa Razaaly(@irchardr), along with the Finance Minister, Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam, and the Roads and Highways Minister, Honourable Francis Asenso Boakye.
GFSDP update
Village Savings and Loans Groups (VSLAS) groups in the Upper East Region continue to establish connections with fInancial institutions, with 63 groups already linked to a preferred service provider. However, more than 40 other groups say they already have accounts with some FSP but are hesitant to share their financial information due to perceived data protection concerns
World Bank Inspects TSIP Projects
Inspection and presentation of works at Lawra, DBI and Jirapa(LOT 2)and Nadowli_Kaleo, Wa Municipal and Wa West (LOT1) by the World Bank and Feeder roads delegation. Meeting held at ProNet North by the World Bank and Feeder Roads after the presentation and inspection of on-going road projects in the Upper West Region.
AgricTech The Game Changer
Agriculture technology is changing the game for women farmers! Our partner, MEDA, recently provided women from various communities with groundnut shellers and planters. This initiative will significantly impact the agricultural efforts and livelihoods of women in Dupari, Dorimon, Gudaayiri, Nator, Siiru, Gindabuo, and other areas. The handing over was held at the premises of ProNet North.
The 34th annual MOLE conference
The 34th annual MOLE conference was held in Jirapa(Royal Cosy Hills Hotel) , Upper West Region on the theme: Building inclusive and resilient water,Sanitation, and hygiene (WASH)systems to reach the unserved. We were privileged to have in our mist Honorable Minister for Sanitation, water resources, Dr.Freda Akosua Prempeh who delivered the keynote speech. In attendance was the Upper West Regional Minister- Honorable Hafiz Bin Salih, as the special guest of Honor. WASH is Health, WASH is Wealth.
Yolo Stars | Supports Changing Behaviour project
As part of the Accelerating Social and Behaviour Change project, YOLO(You only live once) series was projected over the weekends in 2 districts (Wa East and Nadowli Kaleo) in the Upper West Region. It was an interactive session between the YOLO stars and the communities, aimed at changing behaviours.
